John C. Aliano has been a director of photography
and cinematography/lighting instructor for over 15
years. His clients have included independent
filmmakers to ABC television. His award winning
short films have screened at the American
Cinematheque in Los Angeles and the National
Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C.
He has also won an Emmy Award for location lighting.
He has taught classes and workshops at colleges and companies including Loyola Marymount University, City College of San Francisco, Cogswell Polytechnical College, Art Institute of California, Adolph Gasser Inc., Film Arts Foundation, and Pixar Animation Studios. Currently he is an Associate Professor at the Moving Image Arts Department at the College of Santa Fe in New Mexico.
